2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Albert J. Tognarelli of Collinsville, who |
4 | | passed away on November 5, 2014; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli was born on May 30, 1926 in |
6 | | Collinsville; his parents were Italo and Leda (nee Bastioni) |
7 | | Tognarelli; he married Rosalie Brogliatto on January 10, 1948; |
8 | | and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli served his country as a member |
10 | | of the United States Army's 11th Airborne Division in the South |
11 | | Pacific theatre; he received numerous awards and commendations |
12 | | for his service to his country; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli was the owner and operator of |
14 | | the Shell, Mobil, and Phillips 66 service stations in |
15 | | Collinsville for over 40 years; he also served as the |
16 | | Collinsville Township Clerk and ran the Collinsville Senior |
17 | | Citizens Center for over 20 years; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, After retiring at the age of 77, Albert Tognarelli |
19 | | and his wife enjoyed traveling extensively, their favorite |
20 | | times being the cruises they shared together; and |
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli was a member of many |
2 | | organizations in Collinsville, including the Knights of |
3 | | Columbus, the American Legion, and the Collinsville Veterans of |
4 | | Foreign Wars Post 5691; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli was preceded in death by his |
6 | | parents and a son-in-law, Sam LaFrank; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli is survived by his wife, |
8 | | Rosalie; a son, Richard (Gail) Tognarelli; a daughter, Annette |
9 | | LaFrank; a sister, Lola Wrigley; a brother, Leo "Pete" |
10 | | Tognarelli; 4 grandchildren, Amy LaFrank, Lisa (Christopher) |
11 | | Bossetto, Michael Tognarelli, and Matthew Tognarelli; 2 |
12 | | great-grandchildren, Hunter and Sydnee; and many nieces, |
13 | | nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
16 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Albert J. Tognarelli; |
17 | | and be it further

18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
19 | | presented to the family of Albert Tognarelli as an expression |
20 | | of our sympathy.
