SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leo J. Harmon Sr. of River Forest, who
4passed away on April 13, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leo Harmon was born to James and Marion Harmon; he
6was a native of the Austin neighborhood in Chicago; he attended
7Help of Christians Parish Grade School, St. Ignatius High
8School, and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Leo Harmon retired from Harmon Electric Co. and
10had a long, second career in real estate in Oak Park and River
11Forest and at the University of Chicago; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Leo Harmon enjoyed acting and appeared in
13countless plays on stages all across the Chicago region and in
14television commercials; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Leo Harmon was active for more than 50 years in
16St. Luke Parish and was renowned for his annual dramatic
17reading of the Passion of the Christ; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Leo Harmon was preceded in death by his brothers,
19Jim, Bob, Joe, and Don and his sister, Marion; and

1    WHEREAS, Leo Harmon is survived by his wife of 57 years,
2Judy; his children, Cynthia (Bill) Mastbrook, Laurette, Leo
3(Kathleen), and Peter (Joan Mallers); his grandchildren, Sean
4(Rachel), Matt (Kara), Colleen, and Conor Harmon, Brennan,
5Logan, and Riley Harmon, and Liam, Aiden, Declan, and Annabelle
6Mastbrook; his sisters-in-law, Marge and Anne Harmon; and many
7nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great
8nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Leo Harmon Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Leo Harmon Sr. as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
