2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Norma Lee Sholar of Godfrey, who passed |
4 | | away on March 2, 2013; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Norma Sholar was born in Alton on February 29, |
6 | | 1932, to Arthur Peter and Reba America (Edwards) Schelle, she |
7 | | graduated from Alton High School in 1949; she married Dexter |
8 | | Atwood Sholar on December 23, 1950, at Scott Air Force Base |
9 | | chapel in St. Clair County; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Norma Sholar was a homemaker until 1974 and then |
11 | | owned and operated Fast Eddie's Fried Chicken in Alton until |
12 | | her retirement in 1998; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Norma Sholar enjoyed baking, crochet, and was |
14 | | dedicated to her family; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Norma Sholar was preceded in death by her parents; |
16 | | her 2 infant children; her sister, Nancy Westbrook; her |
17 | | brother, Arthur Thomas Schelle; her parents-in-law, Emit and |
18 | | Rutha Bell (Chadwick) Sholar; her brothers-in-law, Leon |
19 | | Little, Henry L. Sholar, Jud Sholar, Franklin Sholar, Monroe |
20 | | Anderson, and J.B. Shirley; and her sisters-in-law, Teriece |
21 | | Shirley and Geneva Sholar; and

2 | | Michael "Elwood" Sholar, Edward "Fast Eddie" Sholar, Richard |

4 | | Katherine "Kat" (Mike) Brunaugh, Sandra "Sam" Rynders, and |
5 | | Rhonda (Paul) Elmendorf; her sisters, Barbara Little and Linda |
6 | | (Gary) Herron; her sisters-in-law, Peg Schelle and Maggie |
7 | | Anderson; her brother-in-law, James Westbrook; her |
8 | | grandchildren, Michael Sholar Jr., Megan Sholar, and Matthew |
