| | Proposes to amend the Executive Article of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that no person shall be elected to the same Executive Branch office more than twice, and no person who has held the office of an Executive Branch officer as Acting Governor or as an appointee for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected to that office shall be elected to that Executive Branch office more than once. Effective upon being declared adopted and applies to each person elected or appointed to an Executive Branch office or who serves as Acting Governor on and after the 2018 general election.

8 | | this resolution a proposition to amend Article V of the |
9 | | Illinois Constitution by changing Section 2 as follows:

13 | | SECTION 2. TERMS

14 | | (a) These elected officers of the Executive Branch shall |
15 | | hold office for
four years beginning on the second Monday of |
16 | | January after their
election and, except in the case of the |
17 | | Lieutenant Governor, until their
successors are qualified. |
18 | | They shall be elected at the general election
in 1978 and every |
19 | | four years thereafter.
