| 1 | | AN ACT concerning public health.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Rural/Downstate Health Act is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 5.5 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (410 ILCS 65/5.5)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 5.5. Rural/Downstate Health Access Fund. |
| 8 | | (a) The
Rural/Downstate Health Access Fund is created as a |
| 9 | | special fund in the State
treasury. Moneys from fees and gifts, |
| 10 | | grants, or donations made to the Center for Rural
Health shall |
| 11 | | be deposited into the Fund. Subject to appropriation and except |
| 12 | | as provided in subsection (b) of this Section, moneys in
the |
| 13 | | Fund shall be used in the following manner for rural health
|
| 14 | | programs or for programs for the medically underserved |
| 15 | | authorized under this Act: 60.2% shall be distributed to the
|
| 16 | | Department of Public Health, 26.3% shall be distributed to the |
| 17 | | Board of
Trustees of Southern Illinois University, and 13.5% |
| 18 | | shall be distributed to the
Board of Trustees of the University |
| 19 | | of Illinois. |
| 20 | | (b) The Center for Rural Health at the Department of Public |
| 21 | | Health may require that a J-1 Visa Waiver
Program application |
| 22 | | fee be collected from international medical graduates for the |
| 23 | | purpose of administering the Program. J-1 Visa Waiver
