Amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act. Provides that upon petition, the court may order that a spouse, child, or parent of a recipient be notified, without the consent of the recipient, whenever there is a change in the recipient's treatment plan.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental |
| 5 | | Disabilities Confidentiality Act is amended by adding Section |
| 6 | | 9.12 as follows:

| 7 | | (740 ILCS 110/9.12 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 9.12. Notification of change in treatment to family |
| 9 | | members. Upon petition, the court may order that a spouse, |
| 10 | | child, or parent of a recipient be notified, without the |
| 11 | | consent of the recipient, whenever there is a change in the |
| 12 | | recipient's treatment plan or medication.
