Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides for the issuance of St. Ignatius College Prep special license plates for passenger vehicles of the first division, motor vehicles of the second division weighing not more than 8,000 pounds, and motorcycles. Provides that, in addition to the appropriate registration fees, an applicant for the special plates shall be charged a fee of $15 at original issuance and $2 at each renewal. Provides that the additional fees shall be deposited into the Secretary of State Special License Plate Fund.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 3-699.14 as follows: |
6 | | (625 ILCS 5/3-699.14 new) |
7 | | Sec. 3-699.14. Saint Ignatius College Prep license plate. |
8 | | (a) The Secretary, upon receipt of an application made in
|
9 | | the form prescribed by the Secretary of State, may issue
|
10 | | special registration plates designated as Saint Ignatius |
11 | | College Prep license
plates. The special plates issued under |
12 | | this Section shall be
affixed only to passenger vehicles of the |
13 | | first division, motor
vehicles of the second division weighing |
14 | | not more than 8,000
pounds, and motorcycles. If the Secretary |
15 | | of State issues the
special plates for passenger vehicles of |
16 | | the first division or
motor vehicles of the second division |
17 | | weighing not more than
8,000 pounds, then the Secretary of |
18 | | State must also make the
special plates available for |
19 | | motorcycles. Plates issued under
this Section shall expire |
20 | | according to the multi-year procedure
established by Section |
21 | | 3-414.1 of this Code. |
22 | | (b) The design and color of the plates shall be wholly
