| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 2 as follows:
|

The
The ability of the constantly increasing number |
| 8 | | of aged in the State to
maintain self-sufficiency and personal |
| 9 | | well-being with the dignity to which
their years of labor |
| 10 | | entitle them and to realize their maximum potential as
creative |
| 11 | | and productive individuals are matters of profound import and
|
| 12 | | concern for all of the people of this State. |
| 13 | | The purposes of this Act are to provide a comprehensive and |
| 14 | | coordinated
service system for the State's aging population, |
| 15 | | giving high priority to
those persons in greatest need; to |
| 16 | | conduct studies and research into the
needs and problems of the |
| 17 | | aging; and to insure participation by the aging
in the planning |
| 18 | | and operation of all phases of the system.
