2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Illinois State | ||||||
4 | Representative Darlene Senger of Naperville on her | ||||||
5 | distinguished service to the people of the State of Illinois; | ||||||
6 | and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Representative Senger has been a member of the | ||||||
8 | Illinois House of Representatives since 2009 and has served | ||||||
9 | this body with honor and distinction; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Representative Senger grew up in a blue-collar | ||||||
11 | household in Hammond, Indiana, where she was instilled with the | ||||||
12 | values of hard work, honesty, and integrity; and | ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Representative Senger worked her way through | ||||||
14 | Purdue University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Finance | ||||||
15 | before earning her Master of Business Administration in Finance | ||||||
16 | from DePaul University; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Representative Senger is the proud mother of 2 | ||||||
18 | children, Eric and Michelle; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Prior to joining the General Assembly, | ||||||
20 | Representative Senger enjoyed a successful career in the |

| |||||||
1 | private sector as a licensed Financial and Investment Advisor; | ||||||
2 | and | ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Representative Senger was elected to the | ||||||
4 | Naperville City Council in 2002, serving until December of | ||||||
5 | 2008; while there, she worked to reduce property tax rates, | ||||||
6 | improve the city's infrastructure, and enhance the community's | ||||||
7 | public safety network; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Since she was first elected to the Illinois House | ||||||
9 | of Representatives in 2008, Representative Senger has been | ||||||
10 | recognized for her leadership on working to reform the State's | ||||||
11 | public pension system as Republican Spokesperson on the House | ||||||
12 | Personnel & Pensions Committee and as a leader on the Pension | ||||||
13 | Conference Committee; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Representative Senger has also served as | ||||||
15 | Republican Spokesperson for the Appropriations-General | ||||||
16 | Services Committee and as a member of the | ||||||
17 | Appropriations-Elementary & Secondary Education, Insurance, | ||||||
18 | Business Growth & Incentives, and Financial Institutions | ||||||
19 | Committees; and | ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Representative Senger has worked on a bipartisan | ||||||
21 | basis to find solutions to the State's most complex challenges, | ||||||
22 | including education funding, property tax relief, fiscal |

| |||||||
1 | reform, and common sense measures to keep law enforcement | ||||||
2 | officials ahead of the technological curve; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Representative Senger has been honored by dozens | ||||||
4 | of organizations in recognition of her outstanding service in | ||||||
5 | the General Assembly, including the Illinois Chamber of | ||||||
6 | Commerce and Illinois Farm Bureau, among many others; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Representative Senger has made immeasurable | ||||||
8 | contributions to the public good through her extensive civic | ||||||
9 | and volunteer involvement, including service on the Board of | ||||||
10 | Directors for the DuPage Children's Museum, striving to | ||||||
11 | transform the learning landscape for young children and the | ||||||
12 | important adults in their lives; the Board of Directors for | ||||||
13 | Giant Steps, a Lisle-based organization focused on serving | ||||||
14 | children and families affected by autism spectrum disorders; | ||||||
15 | and as a proud member of the Rotary Club of Naperville, an | ||||||
16 | organization that promotes service, high ethical standards, | ||||||
17 | and peace; therefore, be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
19 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
20 | we wish Representative Darlene Senger all the best in her | ||||||
21 | future endeavors and congratulate her on a distinguished career | ||||||
22 | as a member of the General Assembly; and be it further
