2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Fred | ||||||
4 | William Stotlar of Marion, who passed away on October 4, 2014; | ||||||
5 | and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Fred Stotlar was born in New London, Connecticut | ||||||
7 | on July 16, 1943 to Warder and Helen B. Stotlar; he graduated | ||||||
8 | from Marion High School in 1961 and from Northwestern | ||||||
9 | University in 1965, where he received a bachelor's degree in | ||||||
10 | both finance and marketing; he married Mary Ann Deason on | ||||||
11 | November 9, 1968 at First Christian Church in Marion; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Fred Stotlar worked for Stotlar-Herrin Lumber | ||||||
13 | Company, Inc.; he was joined at the family business with his | ||||||
14 | brother, Dick, and their sons, David and Brian; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Fred Stotlar was an avid sports fan and | ||||||
16 | participant; his favorite teams were the St. Louis Cardinals, | ||||||
17 | the Chicago Bears, and the Northwestern Wildcats; he enjoyed | ||||||
18 | being involved in the MYBSA Inc. - the Marion youth baseball | ||||||
19 | league, coaching in the Bronco League for several years, and | ||||||
20 | being an umpire; he also enjoyed playing golf; he was a | ||||||
21 | Corvette collector and enjoyed spending quality time with | ||||||
22 | family and friends; he supported several Marion area |

1 | organizations; he was a member of First United Methodist Church | ||||||
2 | in Marion and was an active supporter of First Christian Church | ||||||
3 | Disciples of Christ for 46 years; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Fred Stotlar was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
5 | his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jack and Emily Deason; his | ||||||
6 | grandparents, Elmer and Nettie Borum and Fred and Harriet | ||||||
7 | Stotlar; and many special aunts and uncles; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Fred Stotlar is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; | ||||||
9 | his daughters, Sally Stotlar and Jane (Patrick) Woytek; his | ||||||
10 | son, David (Jenna) Stotlar; his 3 granddaughters, Ellie Ann | ||||||
11 | Woytek, Madeline Ann Woytek, and Ann Elizabeth "Annie" Woytek, | ||||||
12 | and a fourth to come in March; his brother and sister-in-law, | ||||||
13 | Dick and Anita Stotlar; his niece, Lynn Stotlar and nephew, | ||||||
14 | Brian (Skyla) Stotlar, with their children, Ashton, Amelia, and | ||||||
15 | Karston; his cousins, Dana (Terry) Hoffman, Paula (Tom) Risner, | ||||||
16 | Bill (Judy) Hopkins, Bob (Linda) Borum, Ron Borum, and Jerry | ||||||
17 | Houghton; as well as many special longtime friends; therefore, | ||||||
18 | be it

19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
20 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
21 | we mourn the passing of Fred William Stotlar, and extend our | ||||||
22 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
23 | and loved him; and be it further
