2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Robert Wysong on the | ||||||
4 | occasion of his retirement from the Streamwood Fire Department | ||||||
5 | after over 32 years of service; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Robert Wysong started his career in 1975 by | ||||||
7 | obtaining his State-certified EMT license; from 1976 to 1978 he | ||||||
8 | worked for the Schiller Park Emergency Squad; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Robert Wysong joined the Streamwood Fire | ||||||
10 | Department in 1980 as an on-call firefighter; he became a | ||||||
11 | full-time firefighter in 1982; he was promoted to Lieutenant in | ||||||
12 | 1997 and to Battalion Chief in 2011; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Robert Wysong formal education includes receiving | ||||||
14 | his Associate of Applied Science of Criminal Law in 1975, his | ||||||
15 | Associate Degree of Liberal Arts in 1976, his paramedic | ||||||
16 | State-certification in 1983, and his Associate of Applied | ||||||
17 | Science of Fire Science and Safety in 1985; he was certified by | ||||||
18 | the State of Illinois as a Firefighter III in 1985, Instructor | ||||||
19 | I in 1985, Fire Officer I in 1988, Hazardous Material | ||||||
20 | Technician in 1988, Instructor II in 1991, Fire Officer II in | ||||||
21 | 1992, and Fire Investigator in 1997; he was certified by the | ||||||
22 | Department of Homeland Security as a Weapons of Mass |

1 | Destruction Technician in 2002, a Weapons of Mass Destruction | ||||||
2 | IMS in 2002, an Incident Response to Terrorist Bombing | ||||||
3 | Specialist in 2003, a Radiological/Nuclear Technician in 2006, | ||||||
4 | and a Tank Car Specialist in 2010; he has been certified by | ||||||
5 | FEMA for Incident Command Company Officer Level 100, 200, and | ||||||
6 | 700, Middle Incident Command and Control ICS 300, Upper | ||||||
7 | Incident Command and Control ICS 400, Command and Control of | ||||||
8 | Incident Operations, Hazardous Materials Incident Management, | ||||||
9 | and Incident Command for Structural Collapse; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Robert Wysong's accomplishments include being a | ||||||
11 | Field Instructor for the Illinois Fire Service Institute at the | ||||||
12 | University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana in 2003, as a Staff | ||||||
13 | Instructor for Elgin Community College in 2009, as a Staff | ||||||
14 | Instructor for the Northern Illinois Public Safety Training | ||||||
15 | Academy since 2011, and as the Illinois Task Force 1 Urban | ||||||
16 | Search and Rescue Team as a Hazardous Material Team Manager in | ||||||
17 | 2002; he helped develop an agri-terrorism class for the | ||||||
18 | Department of Homeland Security, worked with the local police | ||||||
19 | department to establish the Prom Night Program at Streamwood | ||||||
20 | High School, and was one of the original founding fathers of | ||||||
21 | Fire Explorer Post 1998; and | ||||||
22 | WHEREAS, Robert Wysong has lived in Bloomingdale since | ||||||
23 | 1999; he and his wife, Beverlee, have been married for over 29 | ||||||
24 | years and have 2 golden retrievers, Charlie and Hunter; he |

1 | enjoys hunting and shooting, fishing, and traveling; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, A celebration in honor of Robert Wysong will be | ||||||
3 | held on August 22, 2014 at the Fireside Ale House in | ||||||
4 | Streamwood; therefore, be it
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
6 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
7 | we congratulate Robert Wysong on his retirement from the | ||||||
8 | Streamwood Fire Department and wish him success in all his | ||||||
9 | future endeavors; and be it further

10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to Robert Wysong as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
12 | respect.
