2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Yvonne | ||||||
4 | "Bonnie" E. Savage; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Yvonne Savage was born on January 8, 1937 in | ||||||
6 | Chicago to Aretha and
Harry Williams; she attended Carter | ||||||
7 | Elementary School until
the family moved to Momence and then | ||||||
8 | attended Doney Elementary School in St. Ann; she graduated from | ||||||
9 | St. Ann Community High School; she studied at Wilson Junior | ||||||
10 | College and received a degree in Child Care Development from | ||||||
11 | South East Junior College and a degree in
Business from Cortez | ||||||
12 | W. Peters Business College; she married Freddie Savage, Jr. on | ||||||
13 | February 9, 1958; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Yvonne Savage's first job was with the family | ||||||
15 | business at "Live Chicken Market", where she worked as a
| ||||||
16 | cashier; she has worked at the "Trailer" as a cook and was a | ||||||
17 | receptionist for
Dr. Payton; eventually, she gained employment | ||||||
18 | at the State Building as a
clerk typist, later moving up to | ||||||
19 | become a supervisor; in October of 1970, Yvonne and her husband | ||||||
20 | founded the Chesterfield Day Care Center, where she was owner | ||||||
21 | and director; and
| ||||||
22 | WHEREAS, Yvonne Savage, along with her husband were members |

| |||||||
1 | of a social club known as the "Nonchalants" and they enjoyed | ||||||
2 | planning parties and events; they enjoyed traveling to the | ||||||
3 | "West", and in 1976, traveled to sunny California on their | ||||||
4 | longest trip; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Yvonne Savage is survived by her husband, Freddie | ||||||
6 | Savage, Jr.; son, Freddie L. (Dionne) Savage, III; one | ||||||
7 | daughter, Sherri J. Savage; son, Britt L. Savage; 2 biological | ||||||
8 | grandchildren, Allford L. Taylor and Shaniece S. Savage; 3 | ||||||
9 | gifts to the family, Phillicia, Shon, and Victor; 4 | ||||||
10 | great-grandchildren; one aunt, Minnie; one nephew, Darryl | ||||||
11 | Randle; a special family friend, Geraldine Boone "Pookie"; and | ||||||
12 | a host of relatives and friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
14 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
15 | we mourn the passing of Yvonne "Bonnie" E. Savage, and extend | ||||||
16 | our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who | ||||||
17 | knew and loved her; and be it further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Yvonne Savage as an expression of | ||||||
20 | our deepest sympathy.
