2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Gollie | ||||||
4 | Mae Rodgers of Chicago, who passed away on March 15, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Gollie Rodgers was born on August 26, 1946 in | ||||||
6 | Council, Arkansas; her parents were Clinton, Sr. and Beatrice | ||||||
7 | (nee Floyd) Mobley; she married Claymon Rodgers on September | ||||||
8 | 26, 1966 in Chicago; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Gollie Rodgers graduated from Anna Strong High | ||||||
10 | School in Marianna, Arkansas in 1966 and attended Prairie State | ||||||
11 | College in Chicago Heights; and | ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Gollie Rodgers was employed with Trine Stone | ||||||
13 | Cleaners in Chicago Heights, Four Seasons Nursing Home in Hazel | ||||||
14 | Crest, and ITW Impro in Monkena, where she retired after over | ||||||
15 | 33 years of service; she also worked for the Chicago Heights | ||||||
16 | Park District and worked for many years as secretary of the | ||||||
17 | Mobley Family Reunion; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Gollie Rodgers was a member of Calvary Baptist | ||||||
19 | Church in Chicago Heights from 1973 to 2000, where she served | ||||||
20 | as Sunday school teacher, choir member, and member of the | ||||||
21 | women's missionary department; she was also a member of the |

1 | First Union Missionary Baptist Church in Ford Heights from 2000 | ||||||
2 | to 2014, where she served as a member of the treasury board, | ||||||
3 | choir member, member of the pastoral care committee, and member | ||||||
4 | of the feeding ministry; and | ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Gollie Rodgers enjoyed traveling in the United | ||||||
6 | States and abroad and spending time with her family; and | ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Gollie Rodgers was preceded in death by her | ||||||
8 | husband, Claymon; her daughter, Wanna Joyce; and her parents; | ||||||
9 | and

10 | WHEREAS, Gollie Rodgers is survived by her daughters, Wanda | ||||||
11 | and Donna; her grandson, Michael E. Hunter; her granddaughters, | ||||||
12 | Destiny J. and Ericka C. Hunter; her sister, Mary H. (Henry | ||||||
13 | Jr.) Mobley Thompson; her brother, Clinton Mobley, Jr.; her | ||||||
14 | in-laws, Bobby Rodgers and Katherine Edmond; a host of nieces, | ||||||
15 | nephews, and cousins; her First Union Baptist Church family; | ||||||
16 | and her "son", Pastor Dr. Robert M. Foster; therefore, be it
| ||||||
17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
18 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
19 | we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of | ||||||
20 | Gollie Mae Rodgers; and be it further

21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
