2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Notre Dame College | ||||||
4 | Preparatory for having 3 of its graduates elected to the office | ||||||
5 | of Mayor in the recent election; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Mayor Andrew Przybylo is a 1969 graduate of Notre | ||||||
7 | Dame College Preparatory and a 1975 graduate of Loyola | ||||||
8 | University; he and his wife, Amy, have been residents of Niles | ||||||
9 | since 1981; he is part owner of the White Eagle Banquets and | ||||||
10 | Restaurant in Niles and is employed by Cook County as Secretary | ||||||
11 | to the Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals; he served on the | ||||||
12 | Niles Village Board as a Trustee from 1989 until 2013, when he | ||||||
13 | was elected to serve as Mayor of Niles in April 2013; he is a | ||||||
14 | board member and president of the Polish Welfare Association, a | ||||||
15 | delegate to the Democratic Party Convention, and a member of | ||||||
16 | the Board of Directors of First State Bank of Chicago; he has | ||||||
17 | also been a member of several organizations, including the | ||||||
18 | Knights of Columbus, Niles Lions Club, and Niles Sister Cities, | ||||||
19 | and has served as the Democratic committeeman for Maine | ||||||
20 | Township and as a commissioner for the Cook County Housing | ||||||
21 | Authority; and

22 | WHEREAS, Mayor Dan DiMaria is a 1985 graduate of Notre Dame | ||||||
23 | College Preparatory; he has served as president of DiMaria |

1 | Builders and as an independent commodity trader on the Chicago | ||||||
2 | Board of Trade; he has served as an Appearance Commissioner, | ||||||
3 | Village Clerk, and Trustee with the Village of Morton Grove and | ||||||
4 | was elected to serve as Mayor of Morton Grove in April 2013; he | ||||||
5 | is also a volunteer and community-spirited person who | ||||||
6 | volunteers his time at the Taste of Morton Grove, Morton Grove | ||||||
7 | Days, the Chamber of Commerce, and Niles West Feeder Baseball; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Mayor Matt Bogusz is a lifelong resident of Des | ||||||
10 | Plaines and a 2005 graduate of Notre Dame College Preparatory; | ||||||
11 | he is also a graduate of Northwestern University, where he | ||||||
12 | gained experience in operational management, digital | ||||||
13 | advertising, and media strategy; he formerly served as Alderman | ||||||
14 | of the 3rd Ward and Chairman of the Engineering and Finance | ||||||
15 | Committees in Des Plaines and was elected to serve as Mayor of | ||||||
16 | Des Plaines in April 2013, making him the youngest person to | ||||||
17 | serve in that esteemed position; he currently works for one of | ||||||
18 | the world's largest brand communications and consumer contact | ||||||
19 | organizations and represents Des Plaines on the Northwest | ||||||
20 | Municipal Conference's Legislative Committee; and
| ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Andrew Przybylo, Dan DiMaria, and Matt Bogusz | ||||||
22 | serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the | ||||||
23 | people of the State of Illinois and are fine examples of the | ||||||
24 | strong work ethic and dedication to public service that Notre |

1 | Dame College Preparatory instills in its graduates; therefore, | ||||||
2 | be it

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
4 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
5 | we congratulate Notre Dame College Preparatory for having 3 of | ||||||
6 | its | ||||||
7 | graduates elected to the office of Mayor in the recent election | ||||||
8 | and thank the institution for its work in educating the future | ||||||
9 | leaders of this State; and be it further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to Notre Dame College Preparatory as a symbol of our | ||||||
12 | esteem and respect.
