| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate David C. Bryant on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of achieving the coveted rank of Eagle Scout; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, David Bryant resides in Grayslake and recently | ||||||
| 6 | graduated from Grayslake Central High School in Grayslake; he | ||||||
| 7 | plans to attend Indiana University, where he will major in | ||||||
| 8 | theatre as well as a possible double major in psychology or | ||||||
| 9 | education; he hopes that he will be able to join a theatre | ||||||
| 10 | company and perform for a living; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, In addition to Scouting, David Bryant was a part | ||||||
| 12 | of the theatre club and in every show in high school; he was | ||||||
| 13 | part of the National Honors Society, played the clarinet in | ||||||
| 14 | Honors Band, and sang in some of the choirs in school; outside | ||||||
| 15 | of high school, he helped create the youth group for his church | ||||||
| 16 | and played club soccer for many years; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, David Bryant joined the Cub Scouts upon entering | ||||||
| 18 | the 1st grade and earned the highest rank in Cub Scouts, the | ||||||
| 19 | Arrow of Life, in February of 2006; he joined Boy Scout Troop | ||||||
| 20 | 96 on February 24, 2006 and advanced to the ranks of Scout in | ||||||
| 21 | April 10, 2006, Tenderfoot on August 21 2006, Second Class on | ||||||
| 22 | August 28, 2006, and First Class on February 26, 2007; after | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | reaching the rank of Star Scout on January 5, 2009, he | ||||||
| 2 | continued his journey by earning the rank of Life Scout on | ||||||
| 3 | August 30, 2010; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, As a Life Scout, David Bryant started his Eagle | ||||||
| 5 | Project, creating 4 picnic tables for his High School Stadium | ||||||
| 6 | area, in the fall of 2012, and completed the final steps in the | ||||||
| 7 | spring of 2013; to complete his project, he began fundraising | ||||||
| 8 | by starting a rummage sale with the Band Boosters of his high | ||||||
| 9 | school, who, in return, donated money to the project; he then | ||||||
| 10 | built 4 octagonal picnic tables that are placed by the football | ||||||
| 11 | field for student and community use; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, David Bryant has earned 24 Merit Badges, with 12 | ||||||
| 13 | specifically required to become Eagle Scout, and completed his | ||||||
| 14 | Eagle Scout Board of Review on May 8, 2013; he has held | ||||||
| 15 | numerous leadership positions in Scouting over the past 7 | ||||||
| 16 | years, including Troop Librarian, Assistant Patrol Leader, | ||||||
| 17 | Instructor, and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout will be bestowed upon | ||||||
| 19 | David Bryant by the Boy Scouts of America at a Court of Honor | ||||||
| 20 | ceremony; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, David Bryant serves as a model of hard work, | ||||||
| 22 | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of | ||||||

| 1 | Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 2 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 3 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 4 | we congratulate David C. Bryant on the occasion of achieving | ||||||
| 5 | the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success | ||||||
| 6 | and happiness in the future; and be it further
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 8 | presented to David Bryant as a symbol of our esteem and | ||||||
| 9 | respect.
