1 | | AN ACT concerning business.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Workers' Compensation Act is amended by |
5 | | adding Section 25.8 as follows: |
6 | | (820 ILCS 305/25.8 new) |
7 | | Sec. 25.8. Termination of injured employee; notice to |
8 | | Commission. An employer that seeks to terminate an employee who |
9 | | has been injured and is covered under this Act must file a |
10 | | statement with the Commission documenting that all claims made |
11 | | by the employee under this Act have been settled and that the |
12 | | employee's right to be made whole has not been violated. The |
13 | | statement must also document, if applicable, that the employee |
14 | | has received all compensation, awards, and other remedies |
15 | | available as a consequence of the injury. The statement shall |
16 | | be filed before the termination.

17 | | Section 10. The Workers' Occupational Diseases Act is |
18 | | amended by adding Section 18.5 as follows: |
