Amends the Higher Education Green Jobs and Technology Act. Permits public community colleges to establish green jobs certificate programs for workers in certain industries, including the energy efficient building industry, construction and retrofitting, the renewable electrical power industry, the energy efficient vehicle industry, the biofuel industry, and sustainable product manufacturing (subject to Board of Higher Education approval as provided under the Board of Higher Education Act). Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Higher Education Green Jobs and Technology |
5 | | Act is amended by adding Section 15 as follows: |
6 | | (110 ILCS 140/15 new) |
7 | | Sec. 15. Green jobs certificate programs. Subject to |
8 | | Section 7 of the Board of Higher Education Act, community |
9 | | colleges may establish green jobs certificate programs for |
10 | | workers in certain industries, including the energy efficient |
11 | | building industry, construction and retrofitting, the |
12 | | renewable electrical power industry, the energy efficient |
13 | | vehicle industry, the biofuel industry, and sustainable |
14 | | product manufacturing.

15 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
16 | | becoming law.
