Creates the Youth Accountability Task Force Act. Provides for the creation of a Youth Accountability Task Force within the Department of Juvenile Justice to develop a statewide plan to help prevent youth from joining gangs. Provides that the Task Force shall consult with appropriate State departments, agencies, and board representatives on issues related to juvenile justice administration. Provides that the Department of Juvenile Justice shall provide professional and clerical staff and other services and supplies, including meeting space, as needed for the Task Force to carry out its duties in an effective manner. Provides that the Department of Juvenile Justice shall provide other staff to the Task Force at the request of the Task Force. Provides that the Task Force shall submit an initial report to the General Assembly and the Governor on or before August 1, 2015. Provides that the Task Force may dissolve upon filing its final report. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Youth |
5 | | Accountability Task Force Act. |
6 | | Section 5. Membership. There is created within the |
7 | | Department of Juvenile Justice the Youth Accountability Task |
8 | | Force (hereinafter referred to as the Task Force). The Task |
9 | | Force shall consist of 13 members as follows: |
10 | | (1) 2 members from the Senate, one appointed by the Senate |
11 | | President and one appointed by the Minority Leader of the |
12 | | Senate; |
13 | | (2) 2 members from the House of Representatives, one |
14 | | appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and |
15 | | one appointed by the Minority Leader of the House of |
16 | | Representatives;

17 | | (3) one member appointed by the Governor who shall serve as |
18 | | chairperson of the Task Force;
|
19 | | (4) one member appointed by the Attorney General;
|
20 | | (5) 2 members appointed by the Mayor of the City of |
21 | | Chicago;
|
22 | | (6) one member appointed by the Director of Juvenile |
23 | | Justice from the Department of Juvenile Justice;
|
