| 1 | | AN ACT concerning public employee benefits.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 2-128 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (40 ILCS 5/2-128) (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 2-128)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 2-128. Board vacancy. A vacancy in the office of an |
| 8 | | appointed or ex-officio member occurring
during the session of |
| 9 | | the General Assembly shall be filled by appointment
for the |
| 10 | | unexpired term in the manner provided in Section
2-127 for the |
| 11 | | initial selection of such members. A vacancy occurring during |
| 12 | | the
interim recess of the General Assembly shall be filled by |
| 13 | | the Governor for
the unexpired term.

| 14 | | An annuitant trustee shall be disqualified to serve as |
| 15 | | trustee upon
removal of his or her permanent residence from the |
| 16 | | State of Illinois.
|
| 17 | | A vacancy in the office of an annuitant member shall be
|
| 18 | | filled for the unexpired term by the remaining members of the |
| 19 | | board with an annuitant of the System who has served in the |
| 20 | | General Assembly.
