AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4612




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4612 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The School Code is amended  by adding Section 
529-20 as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 5/29-20 new)
7    (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2016)
8    Sec. 29-20. Study on shared services contracts. The State 
9Board of Education shall study shared services contracts in 
10current student transportation in this State, as well as the 
11opportunity for increased savings for future shared services 
12contracts, and shall report its findings to the General 
13Assembly on or  before January 1, 2015.  The study shall look at 
14school districts that have entered into shared services 
15contracts for student transportation.  In addition, the study 
16shall examine school districts with shared boundaries and apply

1examples of savings that a school district could save if it 
2entered into a shared services contract.  The State Board of 
3Education need not examine school districts on a statewide 
4basis, but may use individual representative examples in 
5completing this study.  This Section is repealed on January 1, 
62016.

 
7    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
8becoming law.".
