Amends the College and Career Success for All Students Act. Provides that a student who takes a College Board Advanced Placement examination and receives a score of 3 or higher on the examination is entitled to receive postsecondary level course credit at a public institution of higher education. Requires each public institution of higher education to comply with the same standard of awarding course credit to any student receiving a score of 3 or higher on a College Board Advanced Placement examination and applying the credit to meet a corresponding course requirement for degree completion at that institution of higher education. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The College and Career Success for All Students |
5 | | Act is amended by adding Section 30 as follows: |
6 | | (105 ILCS 302/30 new) |
7 | | Sec. 30. Examination; postsecondary level course credit. |
8 | | (a) In this Section, "institution of higher education" |
9 | | means a public university or public community college located |
10 | | in this State. |
11 | | (b) A student who takes a College Board Advanced Placement |
12 | | examination and receives a score of 3 or higher on the |
13 | | examination is entitled to receive postsecondary level course |
14 | | credit at an institution of higher education. |
15 | | (c) Each institution of higher education shall comply with |
16 | | the same standard of awarding course credit to any student |
17 | | receiving a score of 3 or higher on a College Board Advanced |
18 | | Placement examination and applying the credit to meet a |
19 | | corresponding course requirement for degree completion at that |
20 | | institution of higher education.

21 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
22 | | becoming law.
