1 | | designation during any particular fiscal year shall complete a |
2 | | minimum of 5 hours of professional development, which may |
3 | | include providing professional development that aligns to |
4 | | NBPTS standards, for each year of the renewal cycle. A total of |
5 | | 50 hours of professional development per 5-year renewal cycle |
6 | | must be completed in order to renew a license. |
7 | | Beginning on July 1, 2013, individuals holding an Illinois |
8 | | National Board for Professional Teaching Standards endorsement |
9 | | issued pursuant to the requirements of Section 21-2 of this |
10 | | Code must have a current certificate issued by the National |
11 | | Board for Professional Teaching Standards in order to maintain |
12 | | the Illinois National Board for Professional Teaching |
13 | | Standards endorsement. |
14 | | Any individual who, on or after July 1, 2012, has been |
15 | | issued a Master Certificate pursuant to Section 21-2 of this |
16 | | Code or a National Board for Professional Teaching Standards |
17 | | designation on a Professional Educator License pursuant to this |
18 | | Section may work as a teacher only in an area for which he or |
19 | | she holds the required Illinois endorsement. Any individual |
20 | | who, prior to June 30, 2012, has been issued an endorsement for |
21 | | a particular area on a Master Certificate may work as a teacher |
22 | | in that area even without having been issued the required |
23 | | Illinois endorsement.
