Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Provides that it is a Class 4 felony for a sexual predator to knowingly assume custody or control of a minor who was the victim of the sex offense committed by the sexual predator.

1 | | AN ACT concerning criminal law.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Criminal Code of 2012 is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 11-27 as follows: |
6 | | (720 ILCS 5/11-27 new) |
7 | | Sec. 11-27. Sexual predator; no custody. |
8 | | (a) For the purposes of this Section: |
9 | | "Minor" means a person who was under 18 years of age at |
10 | | the time of the commission of the offense. |
11 | | "Sex offense" has the meaning ascribed to it in Section |
12 | | 2 of the Sex Offender Registration Act. |
13 | | "Sexual predator" has the meaning ascribed to it in |
14 | | Section 2 of the Sex Offender Registration Act. |
15 | | (b) It is unlawful for a sexual predator to knowingly |
16 | | assume custody or control of a minor who was the victim of the |
17 | | sex offense committed by the sexual predator. |
18 | | (c) Sentence. A violation of this Section is a Class 4 |
19 | | felony.
