Amends the Code of Civil Procedure. Provides that a written notice to terminate a year-to-year lease of farm land, unless there is a written agreement to the contrary, shall be given by September 15 of the then current year (instead of in writing by not less than 4 months prior to the end of the year of letting).

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 9-206 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (735 ILCS 5/9-206) (from Ch. 110, par. 9-206)

| 7 | | Sec. 9-206. Notice to terminate tenancy of farm land. |
| 8 | | Subject to the provisions of Section 16 of the Landlord and |
| 9 | | Tenant Act, unless otherwise agreed to in writing, in order to |
| 10 | | terminate
tenancies from year to year of farm
lands, occupied |
| 11 | | on a crop share, livestock share, cash rent or other
rental |
| 12 | | basis, the notice to quit shall be given in writing no later |
| 13 | | than September 15 of the then current calendar year not less |
| 14 | | than
4 months prior to the end of the year of letting. Such |
| 15 | | notice may not be
waived in a verbal lease. The notice to quit |
| 16 | | may be substantially in the
following form:

| 17 | | To A.B.: You are hereby notified that I have elected to |
| 18 | | terminate
your lease of the farm premises now occupied by you, |
| 19 | | being (here
describe the premises) and you are hereby further |
| 20 | | notified to quit and
deliver up possession of the same to me at |
| 21 | | the end of the lease year,
the last day of such year being |
| 22 | | (here insert the last day of the lease
year).
