Amends the Cycle Rider Safety Training Act. Provides that a property owner whose property is used for conducting a cycle rider safety training course is immune from civil liability for injury, death, or damage to property except where an injury is the result of the owner's willful or wanton failure to warn against a dangerous condition. Effective July 1, 2013.

1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Cycle Rider Safety Training Act is amended |
5 | | by adding Section 8 as follows: |
6 | | (625 ILCS 35/8 new) |
7 | | Sec. 8. Exemption from liability. The owner of property |
8 | | used as a cycle rider safety training course under this Act |
9 | | shall not be held liable in a civil action for any injury or |
10 | | death to persons or damage to property that occurs during |
11 | | instruction or training on the training course, except for |
12 | | willful or wanton failure to warn against a dangerous |
13 | | condition, use, structure, or activity.

14 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
15 | | 2013.
