Amends the Soil and Water Conservation Districts Act. Provides that a person who petitions a municipality or county agency for relief from a zoning ordinance may, at his or her discretion, furnish a copy to the Soil and Water Conservation District to obtain its written written opinion concerning the matter. Effective immediately.

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Soil and Water Conservation Districts Act is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 22.02a as follows:
|
| 6 | | (70 ILCS 405/22.02a) (from Ch. 5, par. 127.2a)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 22.02a.
|
| 8 | | The Soil and Water Conservation District shall make all |
| 9 | | natural resource
information available to the appropriate |
| 10 | | county agency or municipality in
the promulgation of zoning |
| 11 | | ordinances or variances. Any person who
petitions any |
| 12 | | municipality or county agency in the district for variation,
|
| 13 | | amendment, or other relief from that municipality's or county's |
| 14 | | zoning
ordinance or who proposes to subdivide vacant or |
| 15 | | agricultural lands therein
may, at his or her discretion, shall |
| 16 | | furnish a copy of such petition or proposal to the Soil and |
| 17 | | Water
Conservation District. If a petition or proposal is |
| 18 | | provided, the The Soil and Water Conservation District shall be
|
| 19 | | given not more than 30 days from the time of receipt of the |
| 20 | | petition or
proposal to issue its written opinion concerning |
| 21 | | the petition or proposal
and submit the same to the appropriate |
| 22 | | county agency or municipality for
further action.
