2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Juvenile Court Act of 1987 is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 2-19 as follows:
|

7 | | Sec. 2-19. Preliminary orders after filing a petition. In |
8 | | all cases
involving physical abuse the
the court shall order, |
9 | | and in all cases involving
neglect or sexual abuse the court |
10 | | may order, an examination of the child under
Section 2-11 of |
11 | | this Act or by a physician appointed or designated for this
|
12 | | purpose by the court. As part of the examination, the physician |
13 | | shall arrange
to have color photographs taken, as soon as |
14 | | practical, of areas of trauma
visible on the child and may, if |
15 | | indicated, arrange to have a radiological
examination |
16 | | performed on the child. The physician, on the completion of the
|
17 | | examination, shall forward the results of the examination |
18 | | together with the
color photographs to the State's Attorney of |
19 | | the county of the court ordering
such examination. The court |
20 | | may dispense with the examination in those cases
which were |
21 | | commenced on the basis of a physical examination by a |
22 | | physician.
Unless color photographs have already been taken or |
23 | | unless there are no areas
of visible trauma, the court shall |
