Amends the Child Care Act of 1969. Provides that the limit of children for day care homes does not include the family's natural or adopted children that attend school on a full-time basis. Provides that the Department of Children and Family Services shall adopt rules to conform to the Act no later than January 1, 2014. Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 2.18 as follows:
|
6 | | (225 ILCS 10/2.18) (from Ch. 23, par. 2212.18)
|
7 | | Sec. 2.18.
"Day care homes" means family homes which |
8 | | receive
more than 3 up to a maximum of 12 children for less |
9 | | than 24 hours per day.
The number counted includes the family's |
10 | | natural or adopted children , unless they attend school outside |
11 | | of the home on a full-time basis, and
all other persons under |
12 | | the age of 12. The term does not include facilities
which |
13 | | receive only children from a single household. The Department |
14 | | of Children and Family Services shall adopt rules to conform to |
15 | | this Section of this amendatory Act of the 98th General |
16 | | Assembly no later than January 1, 2014.
