Amends the State Finance Act. Provides that no salary shall be paid to a member of a State board or commission that meets part-time. Provides that a member of a State board or commission may, however, be reimbursed for travel and other expenses if so authorized by law. Effective July 1, 2013.

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning finance.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The State Finance Act is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 10.5 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (30 ILCS 105/10.5 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 10.5. Board and commission member salary payment. |
| 8 | | Beginning July 1, 2013, no salary shall be paid to a member of |
| 9 | | a State board or commission that meets part-time for serving on |
| 10 | | that board or commission. For purposes of this Section, |
| 11 | | "part-time" means less than 40 hours per week. A member of a |
| 12 | | State board or commission may, however, be reimbursed for |
| 13 | | travel and other expenses if so authorized by law. This Section |
| 14 | | does not prevent an employee of a board or commission from |
| 15 | | being paid a salary.

| 16 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
| 17 | | 2013.
