| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Citizens Utility Board Act is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 14 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (220 ILCS 10/14) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 914)

| 7 | | Sec. 14. Board officers. (1) Election. The

and the board of directors, at the first |
| 9 | | regular meeting of each at which
a quorum is present, shall |
| 10 | | elect by a majority vote of the directors present
and voting a |
| 11 | | president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. The board
|
| 12 | | may elect such other officers as it deems necessary. |
| 13 | | (2) Term of office. (a) Board officers shall begin serving |
| 14 | | immediately
upon their election and their term of office shall |
| 15 | | be one year. After his
or her term of office has expired, a |
| 16 | | board officer shall continue to serve
until his or her |
| 17 | | successor is elected and certified.

| 18 | | (b) If a board office is vacant, the board shall elect a |
| 19 | | successor to
serve out the term of the office.
|
| 20 | | (3) Powers and duties. Board officers shall exercise powers |
| 21 | | and perform
duties as prescribed by this Act or as delegated to |
| 22 | | them by the board.
