| 1 | | AN ACT concerning public employee benefits.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 14-103.40 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (40 ILCS 5/14-103.40 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 14-103.40. Suspension of ability to accrue creditable |
| 8 | | service for members of certain boards and commissions. |
| 9 | | Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code, no member of |
| 10 | | the
Civil Service Commission, Board of Review of the Department |
| 11 | | of Employment Security (other than the Director of Employment |
| 12 | | Security),
Civil Service Commission, Illinois Liquor Control |
| 13 | | Commission, Secretary of State Merit Commission,
Human Rights |
| 14 | | Commission,
State Mining Board, Property Tax Appeal Board,
|
| 15 | | Illinois Racing Board,
Department of State Police Merit Board,
|
| 16 | | Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, or
Illinois State Board |
| 17 | | of Elections may establish creditable service under this |
| 18 | | Article for terms of office commencing on or after the |
| 19 | | effective date of this Section for service in that capacity.

| 20 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 21 | | becoming law.
