Amends the General Assembly Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that no participant shall accrue service credit on or after January 14, 2015, and no member shall become a participant on or after January 14, 2015.

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning public employee benefits.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 2-101.1 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (40 ILCS 5/2-101.1 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 2-101.1. Elimination of benefit accruals; termination |
| 8 | | of participation in system. Notwithstanding any other law, no |
| 9 | | participant shall accrue service credit under this Article on |
| 10 | | or after January 14, 2015, and no member shall become a |
| 11 | | participant on or after January 14, 2015.
