Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987. Provides that a non-judicial probation adjustment plan includes any appropriate action with the concurrence of the school district where the minor resides.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987. Provides that if the minor fails to comply with terms of the non-judicial probation adjustment, the matter shall be referred to the State's Attorney for determination of whether a delinquency petition shall be filed. Provides that a court services or probation department has the power to confer in a preliminary conference with a view to adjusting suitable cases without the filing of a petition for an adjudicatory hearing under the Abused, Neglected, or Dependent Minors Article or the Delinquent Minors Article of the Act. Provides that a court services or probation department may, when authorized or directed by the court, and with the consent of the party respondents and the State's Attorney, confer in a pre-adjudicatory conference, with a view to adjusting suitable cases.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Counties Code. Provides that each county shall pay to grand and petit jurors for their services in attending courts the sum of $25 in the first day and thereafter $50 for each day of necessary attendance. Deletes language providing that jurors shall be paid $4 for each day of necessary attendance as jurors in counties of the first class, the sum of $5 for each day in counties of the second class, and the sum of $10 for each day in counties of the third class, or such higher amount as may be fixed by the county board. Deletes language providing that jurors shall be reimbursed for travel expenses at certain rates. Amends the Code of Civil Procedure. Provides that all jury cases (instead of cases where the claim for damages is $50,000 or less) shall be tried by a jury of 6. Deletes language providing the opportunity for a party to demand a jury of 12. Provides that if alternate jurors are requested, an additional fee established by the county shall be charged for each alternate juror requested. Provides that for all cases filed prior to the effective date, if a party has paid for a jury of 12, that party may demand a jury of 12 upon proof of payment. Effective June 1, 2015.

House Floor Amendment No. 2
Provides that jurors shall receive the sums (instead of "sum") of $25 for (instead of "in") the first day and thereafter $50 for each day of necessary jury attendance. Restores language providing that the county board may set a higher amount of compensation.
