Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department shall require every provider of mammography services to, if a patient's mammogram demonstrates dense breast tissue, provide notification to the patient in any summary of the mammography report sent to the patient pursuant to the federal Mammography Quality Standards Act that shall include, but not be limited to, certain information.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. With regard to the standardized written summary outlining methods for the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer that the Department publishes, provides that the summary shall also inform individuals, in layman's terms, of the meaning and consequences of "dense breast tissue" under the guidelines of the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System of the American College of Radiology.
