Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Use Tax Act, the Service Use Tax Act, the Service Occupation Tax Act, and the Retailers' Occupation Tax Act. Provides that an exemption for materials, parts, equipment, components, and furnishings incorporated into an aircraft applies only to the use of qualifying tangible personal property by persons who modify, refurbish, complete, repair, replace, or maintain aircraft (instead of "organizations"). Provides that the changes are declarative of existing law and are not a new enactment. Effective immediately.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
In the Retailers' Occupation Tax Act, provides that an exemption for materials, parts, equipment, components, and furnishings incorporated into an aircraft applies only to the sale of that qualifying tangible personal property to persons who modify, refurbish, complete, replace, or maintain an aircraft.

House Floor Amendment No. 2
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the engrossed bill. Provides that the changes are declarative of existing law, but removes language providing that the changes are not a new enactment. Effective immediately.
