Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Election Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.

Deletes reference to:
10 ILCS 5/1-1from Ch. 46, par. 1-1
Adds reference to:
New Act

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Creates the Minimum Wage Increase Referendum Act. Requires the State Board of Elections to cause a statewide advisory public question to be submitted to the voters at the November 4, 2014 general election asking whether the minimum wage in Illinois for adults over the age of 18 should be raised to $10 per hour by January 1, 2015. Provides that if the provision of the Act conflicts with any other law, the Act controls. Repeals the Act on January 1, 2015. Effective immediately.
