Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the General Assembly Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that participation in the General Assembly Retirement System is restricted to those individuals who first became participants before the effective date of the amendatory Act. Effective immediately.

 HB 2906 would have a positive fiscal impact on the General Assembly Retirement System as liabilities would be limited to individuals who join before the effective date of this legislation.

 Balanced Budget Note (Office of Management and Budget)
 This bill does not require the General Assembly Retirement System to re-certify the required State contributions during fiscal years 2013 or 2014, thus there is no immediate impact on the State budget. Savings resulting from HB 2906 would not be realized until fiscal year 2015.
