Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning a committed person's grievances.

House Floor Amendment No. 1

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Rights of Crime Victims and Witnesses Act. Provides that the office of the State's Attorney shall inform the victim's spouse, guardian, parent, grandparent, and other immediate family and household members of their rights to present an impact statement at sentencing; and if a presentence report is to be prepared, shall inform the victim's spouse, guardian, parent, grandparent, and other immediate family and household members of their right to submit information to the preparer of the presentence report about the effect the offense has had on the victim and the person. Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that in felony cases, the presentence report shall set forth information provided by the victim's spouse, guardian, parent, grandparent, and other immediate family and household members about the effect the offense committed has had on the victim and on the person providing the information; if the victim's spouse, guardian, parent, grandparent, or other immediate family or household member has provided a written statement, the statement shall be attached to the report.

House Floor Amendment No. 2
Changes the amendatory provisions of the Rights of Crime Victims and Witnesses Act to provide that the office of the State's Attorney shall inform the victim of (1) the victim's right to make a victim impact statement at the sentencing hearing; (2) the right of the victim's spouse, guardian, parent, grandparent and other immediate family and household members to present an impact statement at sentencing; and (3) if a presentence report is to be prepared, the right of the victim's spouse, guardian, parent, grandparent and other immediate family and household to submit information to the preparer of the presentence report about the effect the offense has had on the victim and the person.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Corrects a grammatical error in the bill concerning notice by the office of the State's Attorney of the right by household (adds members) to submit to the preparer of a presentence report information about the effect the offense has had on the victim and the person.
