2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of
Frederick A. Wuellner, who passed away on |
4 | | November 19, 2012; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner was born on July 16, 1923, in |
6 | | Alton; he was the son of Andrew J. and Emma (Leib) Wuellner; he |
7 | | married Betty J. Purcell on December 30, 1947, at Saints Peter |
8 | | and Paul Catholic Church in Alton; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner served in the United States |
10 | | Army during World War II; he fought in the invasion of Normandy |
11 | | at Utah Beach and served in North Africa and Italy; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner attended the University of |
13 | | Cincinnati and Washington University; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner served as the President of J.J. |
15 | | Wuellner and Son Construction Company; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner was a member of St. Ambrose |
17 | | Catholic Church in Godfrey; he was also a member of the VFW |
18 | | Post 1308, the past president of Southern Illinois Builders |
19 | | Association, past president of Riverbend Growth Association, a |
20 | | member of the board of directors of Home Savings and Loan, and |

1 | | a longtime member and board member of Lockhaven Country Club; |
2 | | and |
3 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner was preceded in death by his |
4 | | parents and his brother, Eugene Wuellner; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner is survived by his wife, Betty; |
6 | | his daughters, Patricia Smith (the late A.J. Smith), Sue (John) |
7 | | Wuellner-Derr, and Christine Wuellner; his sons, August |
8 | | (Maura) Wuellner, Edward (Jennifer) Wuellner, and Michael |
9 | | (Tami) Wuellner; his sister, Lois Wuellner; his brothers, |
10 | | Donald (Vera) Wuellner and Thomas (Jane) Wuellner; his |
11 | | grandchildren, Julie (Kent) Sauvage, Matthew (Jennifer) Smith, |
12 | | Leigh and Mitch Wuellner, Sean (Liz) Holloway, Andrew, |
13 | | Alexandra, and Hayley Clark, Nathan and Hannah Wuellner, and |
14 | | Joseph and Taylor Wuellner; and his great-grandchildren, |
15 | | Kaitlin and Jacob Sauvage and Wil and Jenna Holloway; |
16 | | therefore, be it

17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL |
18 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
19 | | his family and friends, the passing of Frederick A. Wuellner; |
20 | | and be it further
