SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Richard Thomas "Dick" Wyatt of Aurora, 
4who passed away on September 20, 2012; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt was born on October 5, 1930; his 
6parents were Arthur P. "Artie" Wyatt and Margaret "Sally" 
7Sollenberger; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt graduated from West Aurora High 
9School in 1948; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt was the owner and operator of the 
11Aurora Tennis Club on Indian Trail Road from 1971 to 1999; he 
12was also the owner of Westwind Swim Club on Indian Trail Road; 
13and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt was an avid fan and booster of his 
15beloved West Aurora High School Blackhawks, especially the 
16basketball team; he and his wife saw nearly every game played 
17between 1970 and 2005; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt and his wife were inducted as 
19members of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 
201999; he is also a member of the West High Sports Hall of Fame;

1and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs 
3and saw them play the Detroit Tigers in the 1945 World Series; 
4he also rooted for the New York Yankees, but would have traded 
5all their success over the years for just one Cubs 
6Championship; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt is survived by his wife of 58 years, 
8Carole J. Wyatt; his children, Susan Wallin (Roy), Cathy Smith 
9(Dale), Mary St. Jules (Chip), Jane Miller (Mike), William 
10Wyatt (Gabriela), Sallee Wyatt (Dave), and Nancy Chivari; and 
11his brother, Arthur R. Wyatt; he took great pride in his 
12grandchildren, Sarah and Julie Wallin, Cristin and Joseph 
13McCue, Thomas and Andrew St. Jules, Greg, Cathy and Lauren 
14Miller, Gabrielle and Richard Wyatt, Alisanne Wegman, 
15Alexandra and Elizabeth Hurst, and Meri, Elli, Laci, and Wyatt 
16Chivari; he was also blessed to have seen his 
17great-grandchildren, Beyonce Brown, Derrick Jordan, Derrion 
18Jordan, Michael Miller, Ella Jane Marciniak, and Aidan St. 
19Jules; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
21ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
22his family and friends, the passing of Richard Thomas "Dick" 
23Wyatt; and be it further
