SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Ronald L. Sumners of Wadsworth, who 
4passed away on September 8, 2012; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronald Sumners served his country with pride as a 
6nuclear submariner with the United States Navy during the 
7Vietnam War; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, After his discharge from the Navy, Ronald Sumners 
9worked at the Zion Nuclear Power Station until the plant's 
10closure in 1998; he subsequently combined his love of travel 
11with his computer skills and worked as a computer software 
12trainer until his retirement in 2010; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Ronald Sumners was preceded in death by his son, 
14Philip, and his parents, Norwood and Mary Sumners; and

  
 
15    WHEREAS, Ronald Sumners is survived by his wife of 42 
16years, Kathy; his children, Andrew, Nathaniel, and Gillian 
17(Peter) Byron; his grandchildren, Jason Boncodin and Joy 
18Sumners; his brother, John; and his many nieces and nephews; 
19therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
2his family and friends, the passing of Ronald L. Sumners; and 
3be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to the family of Ronald Sumners as an expression of 
6our sympathy.
