2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of
G. Edward Hucker of Beach Park, who |
4 | | passed away on June 26, 2012; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, G. Edward Hucker was born on April 24, 1932, in |
6 | | Waukegan; he married Jean Sills on August 6, 1955, in |
7 | | Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, G. Edward Hucker graduated from Waukegan Township |
9 | | High School; he later attended Lake Forest College in Lake |
10 | | Forest; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, G. Edward Hucker served with the United States |
12 | | Army from 1952 until 1954 and was stationed in Germany; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, G. Edward Hucker worked for his father at Hucker |
14 | | Electric; in 1961, he took over ownership of the company, |
15 | | remaining in that position until his retirement 35 years later; |
16 | | and |
17 | | WHEREAS, G. Edward Hucker was a former member of Faith |
18 | | United Methodist Church of Waukegan; he was a Charter Member of |
19 | | the Young Men's Fellowship Halfway House in Waukegan; he served |
20 | | as a Scout Leader of Boy Scout Troop 79 in Beach Park and was a |

1 | | member of the Y.M.C.A. Camp Jorn Committee; he was a member of |
2 | | the Waukegan Jaycees and the Waukegan Exchange Club; he served |
3 | | on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army; he served as |
4 | | Chairman of the Waukegan/Lake County Chamber of Commerce; he |
5 | | was a member of and served on the Board of Directors of |
6 | | Bo-Di-Lac Improvement Association in Minocqua, Wisconsin; he |
7 | | also served as a Trustee in Benton Township for 22 years; and |
8 | | WHEREAS, G. Edward Hucker enjoyed the Northwoods and |
9 | | spending time at his cabin in Minocqua, Wisconsin; and |
10 | | WHEREAS, G. Edward Hucker was preceded in death by his |
11 | | wife, Jean, and his parents, George and Ruby Hucker; and |
12 | | WHEREAS, G. Edward Hucker is survived by his children, |
13 | | William (Kimberley) Hucker, John (Carrie) Hucker, Robert |
14 | | Hucker, and Kristen (Robert) Cade; his 8 grandchildren, Kellie |
15 | | Hucker, Daniel (Brenda) Hucker, Brittany Weiler, Justin |
16 | | Hucker, Ashley Weiler, Nathan (Katie) Hucker, Amy (Ryne) |
17 | | Seghers, and Ethan Cade; and his great-grandchildren, |
18 | | Christian, Cayden, and Aiden Hucker; therefore, be it

19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL |
20 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
21 | | his family and friends, the passing of G. Edward Hucker; and be |
22 | | it further
