SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Robert Phillip Cahill, who passed away on 
4December 4, 2011; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Cahill was a 1966 graduate of the Loyola 
6University School of Law; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Robert Cahill began his legal career in 
8Springfield, where he worked at the Legislative Reference 
9Bureau; he subsequently served as chief of staff for the 
10Illinois Senate before joining the Cook County State's 
11Attorney's Office, where he served as chief of special 
12litigation; he was with the firm of Rock, Fusco, Reynolds, and 
13Heneghan at the time he was appointed to serve as an associate 
14judge in Cook County in 1983; in November of 1992, he was 
15elected to the Illinois Appellate Court for a 10-year term; he 
16was subsequently retained for a second 10-year term; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Cahill served as an elected member of the 
18District 65 Board of Education in Evanston for 4 years during 
19the 1970s; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Robert Cahill is survived by his wife, Sarah; his 
21daughters, Beth, Kathryn Cahill Dickinson, and Susan; his

1sisters, Lois Fitzsimons, Shirley Cooke and Patricia Harrison; 
2and his 7 grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5his family and friends, the passing of Robert Phillip Cahill; 
6and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Robert Cahill as an expression of 
9our sympathy.
