SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kathleen M. "Kathy" Nordin of Woodstock, who passed away on January 30, 2012; and

WHEREAS, She was born July 15, 1963, in Woodstock, to Roger and Connie Powers; she was a graduate of Woodstock High School; she was an amazingly loving, caring, and giving mother; her children were her pride and joy and what kept her centered throughout her journey; she was the perfect daughter, a wonderful sister, and an ever-present aunt to her many nieces and nephews, always making time to go watch them in their extra-curricular activities; and

WHEREAS, She was employed with Sage Products in Cary in regulatory affairs and co-chaired the Garden of Hope at Sage Products; she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock, serving on the church council, and also was a Sunday school teacher; in 2007, she was the recipient of the Gavers ""Never be Defeated Award"; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her father, David (Roger) Powers; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Nordin leaves behind her sons, Matthew and Michael; their father, Dean Nordin; her mother, Conet "Connie" Powers-Crommett; her stepfather, Gerald "Jerry" Crommett; her brother, Gordon "Gordy" and his wife, Christy, and their sons, Nicholas and Max; her brother, Dennis, and his wife, Anne, and their children, Alex Drake, Madison Drake, Alex and Ryan Powers; her sister, Julia Powers-Schoepke, and her children, Rachael, William "Wil", Zachary, and Amy (Bruce) Christian, and their daughter, Abigail; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Kathleen Nordin; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kathleen Nordin as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
