2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of
Peter Andrew Tomaras of Glen Ellyn, who |
4 | | passed away on December 28, 2011; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Peter Tomaras was born in Oak Park in 1952; he |
6 | | earned his bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry from |
7 | | Elmhurst College in 1975; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Peter Tomaras began his legal career as a docket |
9 | | clerk at the law firm formerly known as Wildman, Harrold, |
10 | | Allen, and Dixon; after studying law at night at The John |
11 | | Marshall Law School, he earned his law degree in 1981; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Peter Tomaras was a litigation partner at Edwards, |
13 | | Wildman, Palmer LLC; during his career, he represented |
14 | | different pharmaceutical companies in childhood vaccine |
15 | | litigation during the 1980s and served as national trial |
16 | | counsel for Wyeth in its fen-phen diet drug litigation; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Peter Tomaras was a past president of Holy |
18 | | Apostles Church, the Glen Ellyn Library Board, and the Raintree |
19 | | Homeowners Association; he was also a past board member of the |
20 | | Institute of Human Development, the Ray Graham Association, and |
21 | | Glen Ellyn Baseball; and
