SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward "Beans" Rittof, Sr. of Joliet, who
4passed away on October 19, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born in Joliet to the late Michael and Anna
6(nee Gaydos) Rittof; he was a lifelong Joliet/Channahon
7resident; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He and his late wife owned and operated Rittof's
9Restaurant and Lounge for 26 years, retiring in 1987; he was a
10member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Channahon; he was a member
11of the United States Coast Guard and served his country during
12World War II; and
 
13    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65
14years, Jessie L. Rittof; his son, Frederick Rittof; his
15brothers, Jack Rittof, Michael Rittof, Steve Rittof, and
16Leonard Rittof; his sisters, Ann Grenchick, Pauline Suca,
17Margaret Suca, Mary Seeley-Derlinga, Josephine
18Lyons-Grenchick, Lucile Bajt, and Rose Rittof; and several
19brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Edward "Beans" Rittof, Sr. is survived by his
21sons, Edward (Brenda) Rittof, Jr., Paul (Pamela) Rittof, and

1Michael Rittof; his daughter-in-law, Colleen Rittof; his
2grandchildren, Robert Rittof, Frederick (Tracie) Rittof,
3Kathleen (Dr. William, M.D.) Kosmala, Edward D. Rittof, Donald
4Rittof, Jennifer (Brian) Kursell, Christine (Brad) Lackey,
5Jennifer (Matt) Baker, Marissa Rittof, and Anthony Rittof; his
6great-grandchildren, Cameron and Owen Kosmala, Jonathan and
7Alexis Lackey, and Caden Kursell; and numerous nieces and
8nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11his family and friends, the passing of Edward "Beans" Rittof,
12Sr.; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Edward "Beans" Rittof, Sr. as a
15symbol of our sincere sympathy.
