2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of
Richard Bettin Stalling of Peoria, who |
4 | | passed away on June 12, 2011; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Stalling was born on November 9, 1937, in |
6 | | Washington, D.C.; his parents were the late Bettin and Ruth |
7 | | Stalling; he married Judith Stalling in the Iolani Palace in |
8 | | Honolulu, Hawaii in 1965; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Richard Stalling graduated from Bethesda Chevy |
10 | | Chase High School in 1954; he subsequently earned his |
11 | | bachelor's degree in psychology from Northwestern University |
12 | | in 1959, his master's degree in psychology from Roosevelt |
13 | | University in 1965, and his Ph.D. in psychology from the |
14 | | University of Hawaii in Honolulu in 1969; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, In 1969, Richard Stalling and his wife moved to |
16 | | Peoria after Richard accepted a position as a professor of |
17 | | psychology at Bradley University; he went on to teach at |
18 | | Bradley University for 38 years until his retirement in 2007; |
19 | | while at Bradley, he served as chair of the psychology |
20 | | department for eight years, represented the psychology |
21 | | department in the University Senate, and worked with Vice |
22 | | President Gary Anna and Councilman Roger Worman to create the |
