SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Christopher "C.J." Stolfa of Normal, who
4passed away on April 9, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born September 17, 1942, in Springfield,
6the son of Christopher and Margaret Flynn Stolfa; he married
7Dixie L. Stein on June 2, 1961, in Bloomington; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He graduated from Trinity High School in 1960; he
9owned and operated S & S Liquors with his father for many years
10and then started C.J.'s Restaurant in Bloomington; he was a
11member of St. Patrick Church of Merna and the Knights of
12Columbus, both in Bloomington; and
 
13    WHEREAS, He was named an honorary member of the Policemen's
14Benevolent and Protective Association, Unit 21; he was a
15player, manager, and general manager for the Bloomington Beer
16Nuts men's major fastpitch softball team for more than 30
17years; he was elected to the Illinois ASA Softball Hall of Fame
18in 1985 and had served for many years as a district
19commissioner for the Illinois ASA; and he was appointed by the
20city of Bloomington to serve on two Executive ASA National
21Tournament Committees; and

1    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Christopher Stolfa is survived by his wife; his
3sons, Todd Stolfa, Doug (Diane Wepprecht) Stolfa, and Tony
4(Molly) Stolfa; his daughters, Nicki (Don) Kiper and Deanne
5(Todd) Perring; his grandchildren, Krista Stolfa, Christopher
6Stolfa, Brittney Hendricks, Maggie, Patrick, and Macie
7Perring, Ellie, Cooper, and Kate Stolfa, and Joey and Isabella
8Kiper; his great-grandchildren, Tate and Nya; his sisters,
9Christine (Edward) Kraft and Camille (Robert) Cornwell; and his
10brother, John Stolfa; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13his family and friends, the passing of Christopher "C.J."
14Stolfa; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Christopher "C.J." Stolfa as a
17symbol of our sincere sympathy.
