2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Probate Act of 1975 is amended by changing |
5 | | Section 11a-2 as follows:
|
6 | | (755 ILCS 5/11a-2) (from Ch. 110 1/2, par. 11a-2)
|
7 | | Sec. 11a-2. "Disabled person" defined.) "Disabled person" |
8 | | means a person
18 years or older who (a) because of mental |
9 | | deterioration or physical
incapacity is not fully able to |
10 | | manage his person or estate, or (b) is a person
with mental |
11 | | illness or a person with a developmental disability and
and who |
12 | | because
of his mental illness or developmental disability is |
13 | | not fully able to manage
his person or estate, or (c) because |
14 | | of gambling, idleness, debauchery or
excessive use of |
15 | | intoxicants or drugs, so spends or wastes his estate as to

16 | | expose himself or his family to want or suffering, or (d) is |
17 | | diagnosed with fetal alcohol syndrome or fetal alcohol effects. |
