AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 348 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 348 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
 
4    "Section 5. The State Finance Act is amended  by changing 
5Section 8.8 as follows:
 
6    (30 ILCS 105/8.8)  (from Ch. 127, par. 144.8)
7    Sec. 8.8. Appropriations for the improvement, development, 
8addition or
expansion of services for the care, treatment, and 
9training of persons who
are intellectually disabled or subject 
10to involuntary admission under the Mental
Health and 
11Developmental Disabilities Code or for the financing of any

12program designed to provide such improvement, development, 
13addition or
expansion of services or for expenses associated 
14with providing services to other units of government under 
15Section 5-107.2 of the Mental Health and Developmental 
16Disabilities Code incurred in administering the
provisions of

1Sections 5-105 to 5-115, inclusive, of the Mental Health and

2Developmental Disabilities Code, or other ordinary and 
3contingent expenses
of the Department of Human Services 
4relating to mental health and
developmental disabilities, are 
5payable from the Mental Health Fund.
However, no expenditures 
6shall be made for the purchase, construction,
lease, or rental 
7of buildings for use as State-operated mental health or

8developmental disability facilities.
